About

Lisa Chernyavska was born and raised in Ukraine, and moved to the Czech Republic for PhD studies in 2015, where she spent the majority of her conscious young adulthood. Lisa currently lives and creates in Prague.

The idea to create the tsalahat brand came to artist and designer Lisa Chernyavska a long time ago when she was experimenting with illustration and lino printing. However, tsalahat finally came into existence in 2023 when Lisa found a passion for creating amazing hand-tufted pieces. tsalahat began from a desire to create bright, long-lasting, and emotionally valuable handmade products that would help their owners experiment, express themselves, improve their space, and brighten their days no matter what. Currently, tsalahat focuses on creating bright rugs and tapestries with floral/folk motifs, using natural materials, and promoting and preserving Ukrainian cultural heritage by recreating and redesigning folk embroidery ornaments in tufted pieces.
